Okay, this is what Odysseus looks like in his chest area. In the 2nd picture, you can see what looks like a pin feather to me. He had a number of these along the back of his neck, but they were harder to see unless you were ruffling his feathers to check for parasites. This is what’s making me think he may be molting. If I remember correctly, chickens only grown new feathers (that’s what the pin feathers turn into) when they molt. I just worry about his chest being so bare & raw looking & it makes me worry. I’m going to look up what I can do to help the molting process or even if that’s an option. At the very least, I can look up to see if putting Bag Balm on the bare skin will help keep it from getting gross or more irritated.
