{Flock Updates} Odysseus’s Spurs

First thing this morning, Odysseus went in to see Dr. Miller so she could file down his spurs. Since they had grown to pretty decent points since the summer, my legs have been taking a beating every time he gets chippy about stuff. I haven’t been able to shave my legs since June because of the number of healing cuts he’s left all over my legs. We needed to get this taken care of for my sanity.

As usual, he was quite in the waiting room up until the front desk lady got on the phone with another client. Then, it was almost every 2 minutes until we went into the exam room. If you’ve never had the pleasure of being right there when a rooster crows, you can’t appreciate how loud it is & how it echoes throughout an almost empty vet office.

It didn’t take long for them to file down the spurs & make them rounded again, but I didn’t get to watch them do it so I could do it on my own in the future. However, I did get the understanding that it took 2 of them to do it & that isn’t something I’d be able to do (have help). It wasn’t that expensive & it’s a procedure worth getting done, to me, for the safety of everyone involved with the males, so I feel okay with bringing Odysseus & Memnoch back in to get it done when they need it in the future.

True to his literary namesake, Odysseus had all the ladies in the office charmed & in love with him. It’s a ruse, ladies! Don’t fall for it! If you do, the next thing you know, it’s a year later & you have a tiny chicken running your life!
